New Patient Waiting List for Adults
Our waiting list for adult patients is now closed. We opened the waiting list on Monday 19th August 2024. This was closed on Wednesday 28th August. We will be contacting patients on this list over the next six months to book initial examination appointments.
We are taking on children (under the age of 18). Please call into the clinic to complete a registration form and make an initial examination appointment. We are unable to register children over the telephone due to the busy nature of reception.
Your registration with the Practice
We encourage all patients to have routine, regular appointments in line with advice from their dentist. We have previously contacted patients who's registration is about to lapse. We will no longer be doing this and it will be the patient's responsibility to ensure they have regular examinations to maintain their registration with us. (Your registration will lapse if you have not had an examination with us in the last two years).
You may have previously had an “Interim Care Monitoring” appointment with our dental therapist. NHS appointments with a dental therapist will be available, but patients will need to see a dentist first. The dentist will have to assess if the gum disease is active before the appointment with the therapist can be booked for disclosing, plaque scores and where needed pocket charts and treatment. The cost of this examination and follow-on appointment will be a Band 2 NHS charge, currently £73.50.
For patients whose gum health is kept stable by close monitoring and regular scaling to remove build ups before they make cleaning difficult, there is no indication to see a dentist at 6 months following NICE guidelines. We know that many of our patients value the care that our dental therapists provide. Therefore, if you wish to continue with regular hygienist appointments then these will be available privately at a cost of £50 for a 30-minute appointment.
